It was recently found out that the iconic Singapore Airlines’ Sarong Kebaya ensemble was being sold on US site Depop for RM250. Many questions popped up for this specific post, as the model was seen posing lying backwards on a chair.
Many said that it’s to show the dress is stretchable, and anyone wearing them can be flexible in their daily tasks. The specific outfit was designed by the late Pierre Balmain in 1968 for Malaysia-Singapore Airlines (this was before the two airlines separated in 1972).
Another netizen joked saying people might think this is an actual vintage piece, however they’re just wearing the average Singapore Airlines’ crew uniform. Some joked that maybe Singapore Airlines might be African.
