A single mum has become the first woman in Terengganu to be sentenced to whipping for “khalwat” in Terengganu, as she is to get six strokes of the cane and a fine of RM4,000, in default eight months in jail.. The woman, Nurfifi Amira Nawi, pleaded guilty to the offence. She was found to be with a 40-year-old man who was not her husband or mahram in a house in Kemaman, at about 3.15pm on Jan 31.

Single mum to get rotan
She had been convicted of a similar offence in 2018 and was fined. The sentence on Nurfifi, who has one child, is to be carried out on May 6 at Marang Prison if she fails to submit an appeal within 14 days from yesterday. She was also advised to get married immediately (but not in Golok) to avoid committing a similar offence again. #relationship woes!
