Several people were hurt on both sides last week during a new “face-off” between Indian and Chinese troops along their disputed Himalayan border, according to sources on Monday (Dec 12). Six Indian soldiers, according to another source in the Indian army, were reportedly hurt in the face-off between the Chinese and Indian troops.

Since a clash on their high-altitude border in June 2020 that resulted in the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers and at least four Chinese troops, relations between the nuclear-armed Asian superpowers have been at an all-time low.

Following recent joint military drills between the US and India close to the border, a new incident occurred on December 9 that resulted in “minor injuries to (a) few personnel from both sides,” according to one source.
