A family of seven in Bukit Mertajam, forced to live in their car after being scammed by a landlord, received help from Bukit Mertajam MP and Human Resources Minister Steven Sim. Hilmi, a former lorry driver, moved his family from Kelantan to Penang but was evicted despite paying a rental deposit. Struggling to survive, the family lived in a broken car while Hilmi worked for delivery services. Upon learning their plight, Steven provided a new home for the homeless family with a year’s rent is covered, furniture, and secured Hilmi a lorry driving job. Financial aid and school arrangements for the children were also provided.
