A post on X showed a nostalgic memory that a lot of older Gen-Z and Millenials would possibly know. Stalls that used to sell fake/pirated CDs and DVDs. Streaming platforms ended this peculiar form of business. These pirated content were significantly cheaper than the original content back in the day, and a good amount of people opted for it.

Users discussed how most of these pirated discs would have an infographic saying that gold discs are better than the blue/purple one. Some state that this is the end of an era, where we no longer even need discs to watch our favorite shows/movies.
Another problem with these pirated CDs was that the shows were not entirely clear at times. If you’d desperately wanted to watch the film, you’d have to brace through the low quality audio and video of it. Sometimes the sellers may record the movie in the cinema and resell them.
