KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 – The Malaysian government is reviewing laws to enhance parental responsibility in preventing child abuse and neglect, including mandatory monitoring of children’s online activities and participation in digital safety programs. Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, speaking at the Tashkent Law Spring Forum in Uzbekistan, emphasized protecting children in the digital age. She highlighted AI’s risks in enabling new forms of exploitation and urged global action against perpetrators. Azalina also held talks with Qatar’s Justice Minister to boost legal cooperation, focusing on human rights and justice reforms, ensuring a safer digital future for children.
