The Sultan of Selangor has strongly opposed any proposal for guidelines restricting Muslims from attending non-Muslim celebrations, particularly in Selangor. He stated that such guidelines are unnecessary and could disrupt Malaysia’s long-standing religious harmony. The Sultan emphasized that Islam already provides a strong framework, and Muslims today are well aware of their faith boundaries. He reassured that concerns over faith being compromised are unfounded, as Muslims can discern right from wrong. He stressed that religious tolerance should not be compromised in Malaysia’s multi-religious society and urged Muslims to strengthen their faith through religious knowledge and adherence to Islamic teachings.
