The Court of Appeal in Putrajaya, led by Datuk Ahmad Zaidi Ibrahim, along with Datuk Azman Abdullah and Datuk Noorin Badaruddin, acquitted former youth and sports minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman of all corruption charges. The decision overturned his prior conviction, which included a seven-year prison sentence, a RM10 million fine, and two strokes of the rotan. The charges, filed on July 22, 2021, accused Syed Saddiq, then chief of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s Armada wing, of abetting assistant treasurer Rafiq Hakim Razali in committing criminal breach of trust involving RM1 million of Armada funds.
