SEREMBAN, March 20 — A 17‑year‑old boy suffered serious injuries, including ruptured eardrums and a broken nose, after a firecracker accident in Bandar Springhill, Lukut, Port Dickson on March 12. Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the victim also sustained injuries to his fingers, palms, and minor facial wounds.

Investigations revealed the teenager and friends modified about 20 ball firecrackers by pouring sulphur into a pole before igniting one inside, causing a powerful blast. The victim was hospitalized for treatment. Police are investigating under Section 8 of the Explosives and Dangerous Weapons Act 1958.
