Thailand Calls Campaign ‘War Against Scam Army’

Two weeks ago, Thai warplanes bombed a compound in O’Smach, Cambodia, killing at least one guard and injuring others, according to eyewitnesses. Locals said the site was a scam center, where trafficked foreign workers were confined, though Thailand claimed it was a covert military hub. 

Thailand’s War Against Scam

The strikes were part of escalating clashes in the decades‑old border dispute, leaving dozens dead and displacing more than 750,000 people. Thailand has framed the campaign as a “war against the Scam Army,” but activists and the UN warn thousands of forced laborers are at risk. Cambodia rejected Thailand’s claims, calling the attacks unacceptable.
