PUTRAJAYA – The Malaysian Cabinet has agreed to provide highway toll discounts and enforce price controls on selected food items during the Chinese New Year (CNY) period. Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the Works Ministry will announce details of toll discounts soon, including vehicle classes and rates.
Toll Discounts for CNY
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Armizan Mohd Ali confirmed that 16 items will be placed under price control from February 13 to 21 under the Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme. The Cabinet also approved a task force to monitor misuse of social visit passes and prevent market manipulation.
