Traffic summonses do NOT block BUDI95 petrol subsidy: MOT

1 min read

The Ministry of Transport today quashed rumours that unpaid traffic summonses will disqualify motorists from the BUDI95 petrol subsidy. “Both issues are completely separate with no automatic link,” the ministry stressed.

Traffic summonses

Under current policy, applicants must meet only two basic requirements:

• Be a Malaysian citizen verified through MyKad.

• Hold a valid driving licence. A valid licence means one that is still active or has expired for no more than three years.

The ministry urged the public to settle summonses for road safety, but confirmed these fines have zero impact on subsidy eligibility.
