Umno vice-president Johari Ghani warned that the party risks being left behind if it fails to address young voters’ expectations in GE16. He stressed that Umno’s six-decade track record alone will not secure support from youth, who now make up nearly 40% of the electorate. “They evaluate leaders based on their commitment to current and future issues, including environmental concerns and leadership integrity,” Johari said after officiating the Parit Sulong Umno AGM. He urged Umno Youth and Puteri Umno to bridge the generational gap and involve young voices in policy-making to ensure the party remains relevant moving forward.
