Umno vice president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin will present a proposal to modify the party’s Constitution which secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan says will include delaying the party’s election for six months following a general election.
Maslan says this was agreed by the party’s General Assembly in March and the amendments will be presented next Saturday. Around 2,666 delegates are expected to attend the special general assembly, which will also vote on the constitutional revision, according to Ahmad.
“I’ve alerted the Registrar of Societies about what we’re going to do,” the Pontian Member of Parliament told reporters at an Aidilfitri open house in Benut today.
