KOTA KINABALU, Sept 18 — Emotions ran high at the inquest into the death of student Zara Qairina Mahathir when a school warden tearfully denied accusations of shielding her alleged bullies. Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Tun Datu Mustapha head warden Azhari Abd Sagap, 31, broke down in court, saying both he and the school had fully cooperated with police, handing over all evidence.
Warden emotional in unfair treatment
“If we had intended to protect Zara’s bully or killer, I would not have told the police about the theft incident,” he testified, adding that criticism from netizens had been unfair. “We have nothing to hide. I did everything to save Zara and stood by her family until the burial,” he said.
