West Ham’s Bid for James Ward-Prowse Now REJECTED

1 min read

West Ham’s pursuit of James Ward-Prowse faces uncertainty as they have had a second bid turned down for the Southampton midfielder. Following Declan Rice’s £105m move to Arsenal, David Moyes seeks to sign two midfielders, making Ward-Prowse a priority target.

However, Southampton’s asking price of about £40m is a major hurdle, with West Ham valuing him at no more than £25m. The club is yet to make any signings, and tensions arise between Moyes and the technical director, Tim Steidten, over transfer targets.

Ward-Prowse wants to leave Southampton, but West Ham is exploring other options, including players like Scott McTominay, Conor Gallagher, João Palhinha, and Edson Álvarez.

Additionally, they are eyeing a right-sided central defender and have had interest in Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Trevoh Chalobah, and Jonathan Tah. The Hammers are set to complete a deal for Carlos Borges and may consider signing a striker if Michail Antonio or Gianluca Scamacca departs.
