A Twitter account (see above) says the White House annual maintenance is only a fraction ($1.6 million in 2017) of the maintenance cost of the Istana Negara, adding that it is the maintenance cost of the palace from a ‘tiny nation somewhere’.
The White House, indeed, is the domain of the most powerful leader in the world or so this is what people keep saying. With the figures revealed of the maintenance of the White House which cost a fraction of the Istana’s, netizens are getting worked up.
In response to the online reports, JKR has stated that the amount is for a seven-year term that ends this month. The scope of work, according to JKR, covered an area of 24.1.3 acres and included several critical components. Divided by seven, the amount is still much higher than the maintenance cost at the White House, if we trust People Magazine on the figures.
