Analysts are all arguing on who will be the next Finance Minister now that DS Anwar Ibrahim is the Prime Minister of Malaysia and his first priority is to nominate a Cabinet of Ministers.

Top on the list of names of those who can hold the post at the Min of Finance post is, Datuk Seri Johari bin Abdul Ghani who was Umno’s Min of Finance no 11 during Najib. But he come from the era of the GST and that might scare people who would believe that he might bring back the haunting tax.

Next would be Mohammad Hassan who did a great job at the start of his career as MB of Negeri Sembilan but then fell into difficulties. But he has experience of managing a state. That makes Amirudin Shari, the MB of Selangor who defeated Azmin Ali in Gombak on Nov 19 as a potential too. He is still running Selangor successfully.

Last we put Rafizi Ramli, but he could be the favourite for Anwar to pick since he is also from Anwar’s party PKR but we feel he did not get a chance to show his prowess having been away from politics for a long time. But Anwar Ibrahim will be the best judge of that!
