SEBERANG PERAI, July 13 – A couple was shocked to discover two objects resembling bombs while cleaning a family storeroom at Taman Bagan. District police chief Assistant Commissioner Anuar Abdul Rahman said the woman lodged a report at Butterworth Police Station after finding the items among her late father’s belongings.
Mortar
The storeroom had been used for over 20 years and was left unattended after his death last December. The Bomb Disposal Unit (UPB) later confirmed the objects were military training mortar bombs without explosives, posing no danger. The items were handed to UPB, and the case classified as no further action.
