SINGAPORE, Aug 23, 2026 – A 28‑year‑old woman was sentenced to four days’ jail after admitting she filed a police report deemed ‘false’ against her boyfriend, a 60‑year‑old bus driver, following a personal dispute. According to Shin Min Daily News, Tang Pei Si claimed her boyfriend had stolen S$400 and assaulted her, forcing him to stop his bus mid‑route and disrupting passengers.

Investigations revealed Tang fabricated the allegations after becoming upset that he did not spend time with her while on duty. The couple had been dating for a decade, with the man often bringing her lunch before shifts. On Oct 6, 2024, Tang tried to prevent him from leaving for work, angry over his refusal to return S$400 she had repaid. She later boarded his bus, made a scene, and called police. Tang eventually admitted her claims were false, leading to her conviction for filing a false report.
