Woman Sad After Her Durians were NOT Allowed on Aircraft

1 min read

A woman was left disappointed after being told she could not bring durians in the aircraft’s cargo hold due to their strong smell. The airport authorities explained that it was banned aboard aircrafts. This is due to the fact that pungent odor could affect other passengers and compromise air quality inside the cabin if the fruit were mishandled.

X users noted that the durian’s pungent odor could linger in an aircraft’s cargo hold for weeks, potentially transferring to other passengers’ luggage. They added that many hotels have already banned the fruit from corridors and rooms due to similar concerns, underscoring how its strong smell often clashes with shared spaces and public comfort.

Others add that you’d probably need a permit to bring the fruit out of Malaysia. Certain cargo carriers like DHL are equipped to handle different types of cargo based on their customer’s needs.
