Customers at KFC in China may soon be able to order chicken feet as part of their two-piece meals. However, this menu change is not due to cultural considerations; rather, it is due to price inflation.
Rising oil and food prices, according to CNN Business, have “significantly” increased business costs prompting the CEO of the company, Yum China, which owns the KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell restaurants there to say the commodity price increase was offset by “full utilisation” of the chicken.
CEO Joey Wat went on to say that this entails using “every part” of the chicken except the feathers. Wings and Feet will probably be the newest treats.
