Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that Chinese President Xi Jinping will not attend the 4th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, with Premier Li Qiang representing China instead.

The October 26–28 summit is set to be Malaysia’s largest diplomatic gathering in decades, featuring US President Donald Trump and leaders from ASEAN, global financial institutions, and international organisations.
Notably absent are Russian President Vladimir Putin and Myanmar’s acting President Min Aung Hlaing. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join virtually. The summit includes special sessions with the World Bank, IMF, ILO, and FIFA, reflecting ASEAN’s expanding global engagement.
