Transport Minister Anthony Loke expressed disappointment over the actions of “mat rempit” who turned the departure hall area of the newly upgraded Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (LTSIP) in Kota Bharu into a racing circuit.

He described the behavior as not only dangerous but also shameful, especially after the federal government invested nearly RM450 million to enhance the airport’s connectivity and boost Kelantan’s socio-economic growth and tourism. Loke warned that such reckless acts endanger lives and could be seen as sabotage against the state’s safety and economy.
He has directed the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to carry out large-scale enforcement operations, including immediate motorcycle seizures, while Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has been instructed to tighten access controls at the terminal.
