WASHINGTON: Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg met privately with U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi at the Department of Justice in March, weeks before Meta’s antitrust trial, according to ABC reporter Jonathan Karl’s new book Retribution: Donald Trump and the Campaign That Changed America.

The meeting reportedly focused on how to approach discussions with President Donald Trump regarding Meta’s legal concerns. Zuckerberg later met Trump at the White House the same day. The Federal Trade Commission’s case against Meta concluded in May, with a ruling still pending. The government’s case could force Meta to divest Instagram and WhatsApp if found guilty.
