A senior police officer suspected of a fatal collision involving a fifth-year student arrived at the Magistrate’s Court in Ipoh around 9:00 AM. Charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, the officer faces accusations presented by eight Deputy Public Prosecutors.
17-year-old’s tragic death
Media access to the court was restricted, barring entry to reporters and journalists. The incident drew attention after 17-year-old Muhammad Zaharif Affendi Muhd Zamrie tragically lost his life in a collision on Taman Jati Road near SMK Jati in Meru, Ipoh.
His severe chest and abdomen injuries proved fatal at the scene. Simultaneously, a senior officer from Kedah was detained in connection to the tragic event on the same day.
