PONTIAN – Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin has confirmed his intention to rejoin Umno as an ordinary member without seeking any position. He said he has submitted his application letter and will leave the decision to the party leadership.

Khairy made the remarks after attending an Aidilfitri open house hosted by Umno executive secretary and Pontian Umno deputy chief Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan. A decision on his application is expected at the Supreme Council meeting on April 17. Khairy added he is prepared to serve again if approved, following a meeting arranged with Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
