On April 1, 2025, a gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, unleashed chaos, damaging 190 homes, 148 cars, and 12 motorcycles. The inferno, sparked at 8:10 a.m., raged on as firefighters battled to contain it, with Selangor fire chief Wan Md Razali reporting near control by 3:40 p.m. Lee Weng Ken, 42, and Sharmaine Pan, 33, joined 112 others receiving treatment for burns and breathing issues at nearby hospitals. A mother wept as her son clung to life with severe burns at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital. Survivors fled in terror, recounting the blistering heat that devoured their neighborhood.
