KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 2026 – 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) has withdrawn its US$5.64 billion civil suit against former chief financial officer Radhi Mohamad, following a consent order recorded in the High Court today. Counsel Lee Shih confirmed that both parties agreed to discontinue the suit without liberty to refile. Radhi’s lawyer, Datuk M. Reza Hassan, also affirmed the settlement. Judicial Commissioner Mohamad Redzuan Idrus subsequently struck Radhi out as a co‑defendant.
Former CFO
The trial, now in its eighth day, continues against other defendants including former prime minister Najib Razak and several ex‑1MDB executives. Former CEO Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi resumed testimony in the afternoon session. 1MDB and its subsidiaries filed the suit in May 2021, alleging breach of trust, abuse of power, and conspiracy to misappropriate funds. The case remains ongoing against the remaining defendants, with proceedings set to resume Monday.
