Kuala Lumpur: In an Op-ed in Malaysiakini today, Dr Chong Chee Kheong says the size of the outbreak is far larger than the numbers detected each day.
He writes that many asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic individuals, who are not aware of their infection, are spreading the virus.
Dr Chong is MOH deputy director of health.
He reminds people that the vaccine effectiveness is best after two weeks of the second dose.
He also says the current outbreak is because of the Delta variant that has a high infectivity rate.
