Kuala Lumpur: The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development has suggested that Malaysia brings back the infamous GST. They say it will save the country after the pandemic and help government raise more money which is spent to help the people during the pandemic.
But neither the OECD, nor Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed is thinking straight. GST has been a massive burden for the people during the reign of former PM Najib Razak.
Najib lost the elections in 2018 partially because of the implementation of the GST.
To support bringing back the GST, Deloitte also says GST will be good for Malaysia.
