Controversial Lynas is yet to build a Permanent Disposal Site for the radioactive waste but it is still licenced to operate and this has irked activists and MPs who are against the project.

Member of Parliament Fuziah Salleh (PH – Kuantan) asked the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) whether the government is serious in enforcing the operating conditions on Lynas which failed to build the waste site in the period until September 2021.

“Will the government seriously terminate the license if Lynas fails to comply? “Lynas proved to be a failure but the license was extended even though it was said that if it did not do so on September 2,” she says.
