No evidence RM42mn came from Saudi King

There is no evidence at all that the RM42 million came from or possibly from the king of Saudi Arabia and there is no reasonable basis for the appellant to form the trust. The funds came from SRC International Sdn Bhd and it has been proven, former Attorney General, Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali says.

Apandi was talking about the donations from Saudi Arabia to former PM Najib Tun Razak.

“In this regard, it is appropriate to note that even after two press statements, the Malaysian Anti -Corruption Commission (MACC) is still investigating the alleged source of funds from Saudi Arabia and to ascertain whether the RM2.6 billion that went into the appellant’s account was a donation,” he says.

MACC officers went to Saudi Arabia to investigate the matter but failed to get any confirmation from Arab donors.
