Every year the Malaysian government provides university students a RM150 voucher indiscriminately to all of them regardless of their backgrounds. Starting last year, they have partnered up with Shopee, Touch N Go, Grab & BigPay in terms of distributing the funds to all of them via the app. Some may see this as a blessing and some may not.
This year, those who receive the E-Pemula credits via Shopee would not be able to buy anything on Shopee, even though it is credited to their Shopee account. It is mind boggling to digest when you think about it. Netizens took to twitter to rant about the whole issue as it is a major inconvenience for them.
When asked about the whole issue, Shopee responded saying that the credits can only be used in physical stores such as grocery stores and supermarkets. Furthermore, it’s only for stores that have Shopee pay. If it doesn’t, well then you’re out of luck. @LatestMalaysia
