Netizens on Twitter recently shared their traumatizing experience with journalists who requested them to be in pictures. The pictures would then be used for an article that would be in a negative context. A netizen mentioned that a random journalist asked a group of them to pose while playing with their smartphones.

That is only for them to see the picture in the news with the headline ‘Public University Students are Wasting Money on Smart Devices’. The real headline was in Bahasa Malaysia (BM) as the journalist was from a BM publication.

This tweet came after another tweet where one of them got scammed from a news publication saying they wanted a photograph of the netizen on electric scooters while directing them to pose in the middle of the road. The said journalist then used the picture in an article with the headline ‘Playing With Death, Riding e-scooters in the middle of the road’ referencing the Sam Ke Ting case.
