A netizen recently tweeted that their teenage student stated they’d want to learn silat after watching Mat Kilau. The netizen went on further saying positive movies like such will leave a good impression on the coming generations.
The movie has been given glowing positive reviews by locals and they hope that the Malaysian film industry will continue to make more of them. Another netizen mentioned that’s how South Korea marketed their country, by promoting their culture, food and cities.
Others were complaining saying that local movies should promote our food and drinks more, rather than having westernised food. Furthermore, many Malay dramas are focusing on social issues or the most common, unfaithful partners.
