After a Malaysian recently discovered some disturbing content on Shopee’s website, the platform deleted the products listed as barang lancap that were for sale and that was on Aug 5 when the user flagged it on Twitter by posting several photos of the listing and asking if it was real.
Shopee responded to the tweet and deleted the products. The tweet has since received thousands of retweets, prompting netizens to wonder if Shopee reviews and moderates the listings before they are posted on the platform.
Shopee Malaysia responded on Twitter the same day, stating that they take such matters seriously. Next time, don’t sell ‘bahan lancap‘ on Shopee, okay.
