Yes, it is common knowledge that when a brand sells something in our capitalistic day and age, they will mark up the prices to an astronomical level. But how much? Apparently, a netizen on Twitter said that their local retailer sells a solid gold ring for £115, about RM622, and the price of the Cartier ring is £1,080, which is RM5,842.
A crafty netizen stated that it’s better to get a gold ring and just stamp a Cartier branding on it. Others are stating that diamonds are just as bad or even worse, at least for gold, resale value is there, but for diamonds usually there is no resale value.
