A famous tech reviewer YouTuber, LukeMiani has recently taken to Twitter with regards to his experience on TikTok. He stated that for 7.5 million views, 600,000 likes the social media app would only pay barely US $4.00, RM17.00.
TikTok pays you pennies for your content
However, as the saying goes, shorter videos means that you make less money. Same concept would be reflected in YouTube’s shorts. There were some netizens that stated content creators should get a “real job” instead of complaining about the low creator fees they get.
A lot of the comments seem to disagree with LukeMiani’s point of view as they stated content creation has been taken out of proportion. There were some comments against such points as TikTok has advertisements and these billion dollar companies profit off content creators, and should compensate them for their hard work.
