South Korea intends to bring in approximately 110,000 migrant workers this year to work in its farms and factories, but some businesses believe that even more will be required to keep them running.
These industries are currently facing a labour shortage, as many young South Koreans avoid dirty and dangerous jobs.

A recent survey conducted by the Korea Enterprises Federation, a major business lobbying group, says approximately 40% of SMEs surveyed believe the government has not fully grasped the scope of the problem. They say new foreign workers expected are insufficient to close the labour gap.
