While the country says ex-PM Mahathir Mohamad was wrong in stopping the review of the ruling International Court of Justice on the Pulau Batu Puteh, it is also accepting the fact that the ruling cannot be reversed.

As such, it has accepted the 2008 ruling that handed over ownership of the tiny rock in the sea to Singapore while stating it will take some form of action against those who stopped the review.
The decision to discontinue was made shortly after the PH coalition emerged victorious in the 14th GE on May 10, 2018, and its leader Dr Mahathir was sworn in as prime minister.
