Just a few days ago, we wrote about cyber scammers and about a man who lost RM1 million. Now, another netizen has lost RM50,000 through a scam. The money was taken from their Maybank account in the guise of Facebook advertisements.
Cyber scammers stole RM50,000 for Facebook Ads?
Netizens recommend turning off the “off screen activity” feature on Facebook. They alleged that Facebook will be able to receive data from your phone. Furthermore, the bank involved has seemingly not been helpful with the matter. Many are upset at this as hard earned money is simply evaporating like water.
Another netizen recommended that victims should go through the proper channels of complaining. If a formal complaint is made to Bank Negara, they will take action regarding the issue. Maybank has also issued warnings numerous times regarding the dangers of cyber scams.
