Tottenham are seeking further clarification from Fifa after the club’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, had his ban extended globally. Paratici must step down from his position following the extension, which was imposed after Juventus were found guilty of false accounting.
Paratici’s ban
Tottenham issued a statement, saying, “This committee deliberation has been taken with no advance notice to any of the parties involved. We are urgently seeking further clarification from Fifa as to the details of the extension and its variance from the [Italian FA] sanction.”
Paratici’s 30-month ban initially only applied to Italian football, but Fifa confirmed that it had now extended the sanctions to have a global effect. Tottenham are currently seeking a replacement for Antonio Conte and making transfer plans while dealing with the uncertainty surrounding the future of Harry Kane.
