On Monday, April 3rd, the Dewan Rakyat session will proceed with the second reading of several legislative bills, including the Finance Bill 2023. The Orders of the Day and Motion to be tabled and debated include the Windfall Profit Levy (Validation) Bill 2023.

Next, the dewan rakyat will discuss regarding the abolition of Mandatory Death Penalty Bill 2023, Revision of Sentence of Death and Imprisonment for Natural Life (Temporary Jurisdiction of the Federal Court) Bill 2023, Road Transport (Amendment) Bill 2023, Land Public Transport (Amendment) Bill 2023, Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board (Amendment) Bill 2023, and the Printing of Qur’anic Texts (Amendment) Bill 2023.
The Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Johari Abdul had previously announced that the session would be extended to April 4th, allowing time for the tabling and decision-making of important legislative bills and government businesses. The session, which started on February 13, was initially supposed to end on March 30, and was primarily focused on debating the revised Budget 2023 of RM386.1bil.
