Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md. Nor, the Chief Minister of Kedah, has been barred from attending the official government event, the Unity and Aerospace and Maritime Exhibition Langkawi (LIMA ’23), due to accusations of leaking confidential information.
Sanusi’s explanations
Sanusi explained that the allegations were made after he attended a joint meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and all the Chief Ministers and Mentris Besar in Parliament. The accusation was based on his speech in Sungai Besar, Selangor, where he mentioned attending the meeting and who presented but did not disclose the information presented.
Sanusi clarified that he did not leak any government secrets but was accused of doing so due to an amendment made to the minutes of a meeting he did not attend. He assured that LIMA ’23 would run smoothly and be a memorable event for everyone. The ban on his attendance remains in place.
