PM Anwar regarding South China Sea
Anwar explained that as the state oil and gas company, Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), has the largest platform for exploration and drilling in the area, Malaysia must continue with the project, even though there are overlapping claims in the region by China. Anwar highlighted that Myanmar’s internal conflicts could impact Malaysia, given that almost 200,000 Rohingya refugees are in Malaysia, and any developments in Myanmar could potentially affect their situation.
