The discovery of a female body in a suitcase near a bus stop in Kulai last week has prompted statements from two informants who made a police report, according to Johor Police Chief, Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat.

The police are also awaiting a forensic report from the hospital in hopes of obtaining new leads for the investigation. So far, the investigation has been challenging as the victim’s fingerprint could not be detected, and there have been no clear leads. The absence of a Bacillus Calmette-Gurin (BCG) vaccination mark on the victim’s arm suggests she may be a foreigner, but this has not been confirmed yet.
The full forensic report may take time, depending on the hospital. The body of the 25-year-old woman was found dismembered and stuffed into a suitcase on April 12, with preliminary examination indicating head injuries likely caused by blunt force trauma.
