Typically, Malaysians would tend to defend motorcyclists, however, in the special case of Fatin Afeefa’s husband, netizens are doing the contrary. Twitter users are calling him out for his “rempit” behavior. This is despite him coming out to talk about the whole issue.
According to news reports, Aliff (her husband), also known as Opai, finally came forward to explain and apologize for his actions. He stated that the viral video was taken spontaneously during the event, and there was no intention to tarnish anyone’s reputation.
Fatin Afeefa’s husband attacked by Twitter mob
A netizen went on a tirade rant against Aliff, stating that he is on the same level as these “mat-rempits” that are around Kuala Lumpur. However, the key difference between them and him is that he has money. Furthermore, the original poster complained about him showing off his wealth and deemed it inappropriate.
Despite this, it is not fair to downgrade others who so happen to be “rempits” as there are many of them who are kind hearted people. There were others who mocked him for being “new money” stating that typically, those who inherit their wealth or come from a stable background would not act like this.
