After a four-year High Court trial, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was given a discharge not amounting to acquittal (DNAA) for all 47 charges of corruption, criminal breach of trust (CBT), and money laundering. The prosecution initially demanded a DNAA, but Hisyam Teh Poh Teik, Zahid’s defense attorney, asked for the Umno president to be completely exonerated.
Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah subsequently ruled that Zahid was cleared of all counts but was not found not guilty.
