Barisan Nasional’s (BN) reduced majority in the Pelangai state seat by-election compared to the 15th general election (GE15) can be attributed to the opposition’s dissemination of falsehoods, according to Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the BN chairman.

He noted that such tactics were expected due to the opposition’s campaign approach in Pahang over the past two weeks. Zahid emphasized that while the majority may have decreased, BN’s victory in Pelangai was significant, expressing gratitude to BN’s leadership and coalition partners.
BN’s Amizar Abu Adam secured a 2,949-vote majority in the by-election, winning with 7,324 votes, with Muhyiddin Yassin of Perikatan Nasional (PN) noting the lack of vote transferability between Pakatan Harapan and BN.
